Why Should One Buy a Hybrid Car?
Hybrid cars, popularly referred to as the ‘cars of the era’, have gained great recognition in the global market in a very short period of time. This is because of the unique advantages that hybrid cars have over conventional models. These ‘green cars’ are beneficial for not only the owner, but also for the global environment, society, nation, and the mankind.
The reasons why one should buy a hybrid car are multi-fold as hybrid cars attribute several economical, technical, and environmental benefits. Following are some of the major advantages of a hybrid car:
1) Hybrid cars are different from the conventional models in the basic pattern. Unlike conventional cars that solely depend on a gas-powered engine, hybrids make use of 2 different energy sources for its movement. It combines the benefits of the gas-powered internal combustion engine with the clean energy of the electric motor, thus resulting in a much better mileage.
2) Hybrid cars make use of the electrical energy while starting up and in the low speed ranges, thus reducing the tail pipe emissions significantly. Reduced emission of carbon mono-oxide and other green house gases make hybrid cars environment-friendly.
3) Hybrid cars balance the use of electric energy as well as gasoline in their optimum levels, thus rectifying the complaints often made in both the systems.
4) One more reason why you should consider buying a hybrid car is that it incurs tax benefits. However, the policies vary by state.
5) There are several other purchase incentives offered to the Hybrid vehicle owners. However, the incentives offered also vary by state.
6) Owing to the special Regenerative Braking Technology used in Hybrid Cars, their batteries can be charged without using any external source.
7) As the batteries and the electric motor of a hybrid car are very expensive, special extended warranties are offered to customers wiling to purchase a hybrid.
The aerodynamic design, power windows, lighter materials, attractive interiors, and smoother tires of a Hybrid Car help it to have an edge over the conventional cars.
9) Lastly, as hybrid cars reduce our dependency on fossil fuels, they can help to bring down the fuel prices and affect the economy to a large extent.
Thus, Hybrid car is an advantageous car, which helps to overcome the crisis associated with the automotive world. The above advantages are more than enough to explain why one should consider buying a hybrid car instead of a conventional one. There are several hybrid car models, such as the Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic Hybrid, available in the market today. Therefore, before purchasing a hybrid model, it is advisable to first compare and contrast the qualities and costs of different models.
The Trend of Wire Wheels
It’s been long since many classic cars were used to mounted with TRU spoke wire wheels. They were darling wheels of the masses. Many American GM cars and old models of BMW and Mercedes use to have them but now they are extinct. Many classic car lovers have not forgot 1953 Corvette (Recreation), 1983 DUESENBERG II SJ LA GRANDE, 1929 MERCEDES-BENZ BEAR CAT REPLICA e.t.c and many other classic roadsters all having Wire Wheels on them. But now no more car manufacturers fit TRU spoke wire wheels in their cars.
Wire wheels are the wheels in which it’s spoke. That is a rod attaches from the center of a rim’s hub to the outer rim. It appears as a whole dense network of spokes on a wheel. Numerous spokes provided a great structural strength to the whole wheel.
However these wheels are still used in bicycles and motor cycles but their role in the car wheel is not any more unless a vintage car enthusiast customize them on their wheels.
The reason for these kind of wheels getting out of fashion is of course the change of taste. Like any other thing, fashion or trend also has its life. These were popular specially in the decade of 60′s and they lived until 90′s. In 1960′s even the sports cars have these wheels mounted over them.
The advantage of wired wheels was that the damaged wheel could be repaired without the need of getting it dismantled from the car. Bring the wheel into shape and then re lace additional spokes in to the wheel thus giving back the wheel whole new look. Since as spokes steel, copper or other metal used was in the form of thick wires, they used to be lighter than other wheels.
TRU spoke wire rims were not without any disadvantage like any other thing. They were very difficult to get cleaned as navigation through the whole dense network of wires was difficult. I guess that was the only demerit of it.
However if you are really a fan of these wheels don’t get disappointed. As the history repeats itself, so does any trend. Spoke wire wheels on cars are very trendy in hip hop videos now a days. A hit movie where the hero drives with these wheels on his car can really do the trick in favor of these rims. Who knows!!!
